How we handle your personal data when you visit the website or write to us.

Last updated: 4 November 2026

This is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.

This notice explains how OtticaSunna di Davide Sunna processes the personal data of visitors to www.otticasunna.it and of people who contact us through the website forms, in accordance with Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003.

1. Data controller

OtticaSunna di Davide Sunna

2. What data we process

Browsing data

Like any website, the server hosting the site automatically records some technical data about visits (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type). This is used only to run the site and protect it from abuse, and not to identify visitors.

Data sent through the forms

When you write to us from the Contact page or request a free sample, we collect your name, phone number, e-mail address, your message and, for samples, the lens brand you want.

Health data

In the sample request you may, if you wish, enter your prescription. This is health data (Article 9 GDPR): we only process it if you give your explicit consent by ticking the relevant box. Without consent, your prescription is not sent.

Data for form security

To block spam we limit the number of submissions from the same IP address. The address is not stored in clear but only as an irreversible encrypted code (hash), deleted within one hour.

3. Why we process it and on what legal basis

  • Replying to your requests and arranging sample requests: pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Prescription for the sample: your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Website security and spam prevention: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Legal obligations (e.g. tax, if your request leads to a purchase): legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

We do not use your data for advertising, newsletters or profiling, and we never sell it.

4. Do you have to provide your data?

Name, phone number and e-mail are needed to reply to you: without them we cannot handle your request. Prescription and message are optional in the sample request.

5. How we process it and for how long

Form data reaches our mailbox by e-mail and is processed electronically with appropriate security measures (encrypted HTTPS connection, sending via an authenticated mail server). We keep it as long as needed to handle your request and in any case no longer than 24 months from the last contact, unless the law requires longer retention (e.g. 10 years for tax documents). Prescriptions are deleted once the sample request has been handled. Anti-spam data is deleted within one hour.

6. Who it may be shared with

  • Aruba S.p.A., our hosting and e-mail provider, acting as data processor with servers in Italy;
  • lens manufacturers or distributors, only for sample requests and only the data needed (name, delivery details, brand and, if you consented, prescription);
  • couriers, for delivery;
  • advisers and authorities, where required by law.

Your data is never made public.

7. Transfers outside the European Union

We do not transfer your data outside the European Union. The map on the Contact page is provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, based in the United Kingdom, a country recognised by the European Commission as providing adequate data protection (see section 8).

This website does not use profiling cookies, analytics or advertising tools and normally stores no cookies on your device. That is why you see no cookie banner.

OpenStreetMap map. The map on the Contact page is provided by OpenStreetMap. To display it, your browser downloads map images from OpenStreetMap Foundation servers, which receive technical data such as your IP address, under their privacy policy. The map uses no profiling or advertising cookies.

Weather. The weather forecast on the home page is provided by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway). The data is downloaded by our server, not by your browser: MET Norway receives none of your data.

Links to Instagram, Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze open third-party services only if you click them; those services process data under their own privacy policies.

9. Your rights

At any time you can ask to access, correct or delete your data or restrict its processing, object to processing based on legitimate interest, receive your data in a readable format (portability) and withdraw your consent for the prescription, without affecting processing already carried out (Articles 15–22 GDPR). To do so, write to info@otticasunna.com or call 0833 263838: we will reply within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

10. Changes

We may update this notice, for example if we add new services to the website. The date of the last update is shown at the top.
